On the road again, I can't wait to get back on the road again

Well, I missed my bus to Sarajevo. That sucks! My friend called me a few minutes before it left this morning. That is the first time I woke up. I somehow slept through 3 alarms.....simply stunning. Anyway, looking on the bright side, I got to check my email and write on here....something I haven't done in few days. Even though I will miss the fun bus ride with all my pals, I'm still excited about going to Sarajevo - it will be GREAT!! Also, thanks to my wonderful sister, I have a discman to listen to all the way there. That is something I am looking forward to.....the open road and some good tunes. :) I just hope I don't have to sit next to anyone....especially anyone weird.

Christmas time was here, happiness and cheer

Wow! My first Christmas in Croatia and away from my family. I thought it would be horrible, I thought it would be depressing, but it wasn't. My roomie, Jen, and a friend of ours, Bethany celebrated Christmas morning together. We woke up early and opened presents, made breakfast and watched "White Christmas". Then Bethany went home and I took a nice nap. :) It was nice just to relax at home and Jen & I got to watch her DVD of Josh Groban in concert. Nice. In the evening, the Hoybach's and I went to hang out with the Weir's. We watched the movie "Elf". It was funny...."I'm Buddy the Elf, what's your favorite color?" Haha!! When I got home, my roomie and I went downstairs to our landlady's flat to give her a plate of goodies. We thought we were going to just say "Sretan Bozic", give her the goodies and go back upstairs. She invited us in and we ended up staying and talking for almost two hours. It was great!! She showed us pictures of her family and some of their vacations. They have a weekend house on the island of Vis, off the southern coast of Croatia, and she invited me and Jen to come sometime with them this summer. We said, "Okay, if you insist." :) Woohoo!! I hope we get to go! After that, I called my parents and sister and chatted with them, then called my sister in Iowa visiting her husband's family and talked with her. All in all it was a wonderful day.

Drops of Jupiter in her hair

Wow! It has been a long time. Two weeks ago today, my computer went off to get all spiffed up with some new software. It was supposed to be done in two days. But, of course, there were various unforseen technical and schedule difficulties which resulted in delay. Thankfully, this past Wednesday night I got my baby back and so far, so good. :) Just need to download some instant messenger software and all will be right with the world. heehee.

My roomies and I got finished decorating the Christmas tree a little earlier and there are lots of nice cut out paper snowflakes hanging from the ceiling - very festive. I don't know what else to write...theres lots to write about, but I am soooo tired and not feeling so great at the moment. I need a nap. *zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz*

Fly me to the moon

Actually, I think I could fly there by myself.....I'm serious delirious, mysterious, conspiritous, wondermous - wow! I'm buzzin'! Instead of my usual Pipi (yes, it is pronounced "peepee" hahahaha! but it is orange flavored soda), I had a coffee (espresso) at my language lesson this morning. It has been a long time since I had coffee, maybe even before I went to Spain. And, oops, I didn't have any breakfast. Haha!!! Kachizlin'!

Tell me why haven't I heard from you

Hmm....maybe it is because I left my phone at the cafe. #$*&%!!! Oh, I hope Elton can bring it to me later....I feel so lost without it. haha! Seriously, though, I don't have anyone's phone number. Oops. I guess it is time for me to write them all down somewhere safe. Yeah, sure. Anyway....what else? Oh, yes....why oh why do I ride the bus home? Or anywhere for that matter? Well, some places I can see the use of riding the bus because it may be too far to walk. But not home. Every time I use my bad judgment and get on the bus to go home, I regret it. Usually I do this because the bus is at the station as I am on my way home. I think, "oh, there is my bus, I'll just hop on and be home in a jiff." Wrong. First of all, there is no "hop" on the bus - it is push/be pushed onto the bus in a crowd of people. Then maybe find a seat or stand somewhere WAY too close to a bunch of strangers. Finally, after a couple of stops where even more strangers pile on the bus, there it is - my stop. At this point, I have to push my way through to the door so I can exit the bus screaming, "stop touching me you freaks!!!" Why do I put myself through the trauma? Next time, please tell me to WALK!!! On a happier note, I got an email from my friend Chris. eeee!!! Very fun! He was living here in Split for about three months and moved back to the States a couple of weeks ago. Ok, that is all from my exciting life.

In my dreams I'll always see you soar above the sky

Oh! I almost forgot to write about my dream *you wishing I forgot*....anywho, there I was on a bus (in my dream, that is) and there were a few other people on the bus. Then the bus starts moving, pulling out of the parking lot. However, there is one small, tiny thing missing in the bus - the driver. Hmm...ok, no driver, but the bus is moving. Not a problem because I'm sure it will stop at the end of the parking lot like it is supposed to and the driver will get on the bus there. Ooops, no, the bus continues onto the street. At this point I am slightly concerned and start trying to get off of the bus. The controls to open the doors won't work, of course and so the only course of action left is to try to force the doors open. One guy is trying to open the doors unsuccessfully (btw, this is a random guy who comes into the cafe...I've never talked to him and don't really know why he was in my dream - very strange). Certainly what must be done at this point it is to kick the doors open, which I readily do and the guy jumps out. He lands and assures me that it is safe for me to do the same. I, however am not so reassured. He continues to try to convince me and.....that is all. I don't remember for sure...I think I jumped out and was okay, but maybe the bus just stopped on its own. Hmmm....oh well.....what do you think it means?

I was thinking about it and maybe that bus is like my life and I feel out of control and that nobody is in control and I am trying to escape from that...hmmm.....maybe I need therapy.

Blame it on the rain

Despite the apparent cheerfulness of my previous post, when I woke up this morning I wanted to pull the covers up over my head and sleep for another 24 hours. It is rainy and cold outside. Yuck. And I’ve been fighting a cold since Sunday. So far I have been winning, but I just want it to go away….like the rest of the world. Blah! However, I remembered that today is the first day of December. Cool. A new month. I like it. Besides, my decision remains to be in a good mood no matter the weather. I have much to be thankful for and a little rain isn't going to ruin my parade. haha!!

Jump in let's go...everybody gets high, everybody gets low. These are the days when anything goes! Crank up that volume to awesome!!
